The Sioux Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau (SFCVB) holds its Users' privacy in the highest regard. This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which SFCVB collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the VisitSiouxFalls.com website ("Site"). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by SFCVB. If at any time you have any questions or feedback regarding our Privacy Policy, we invite you to contact us or give us a call at 605.275.6060. The site bookings.visitsiouxfalls.com is a separate site and pursuant to a separate privacy policy, which can be found on that site.

Personal Identification Information

We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, although please note that doing so may prevent them from engaging in certain Site-related activities. We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users subscribe to the newsletter, request a visitor guide, enter a contest, and in connection with other activities, services, features, or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, first and last name, birth date, company, job title, email address, phone number, mailing address, postal code, country, travel interests, and the method by which the User heard about SFCVB.

Non-Personal Identification Information

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer, and other technical, non-personally identifying information about Users' means of connection to our Site (e.g., the operating system, the Internet service providers utilized, and other similar information).

On the site, we use Google Analytics to anonymously track user behavior. This records device information (like Browser and Device Type) and aggregates it along with page visits and site actions. However, no personally-identifiable information is ever collected in this system.

This anonymous behavior data may be used by the Sioux Falls CVB or by third parties to customize advertising experiences around the internet. Data may also be aggregated by third parties for research purposes, but again is never tied back to any personally identifiable user information.

The site employs click mapping software, which tracks link and non-link clicks on certain pages of the site. However, these clicks are never tied to any personally identifiable information, and are not shared with third parties.

In general, no personal information is ever shared with third parties, but behavior and device information may be shared for marketing purposes.

Web Browser Cookies, Pixels and Web Beacons

Our Site may use cookies to enhance User experience. The User's web browser places anonymous cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track non-personally identifying information about them. Users may choose to set their web browser to block or refuse cookies, or to alert the User when cookies are being sent. Please note that blocking cookies may cause the Site to function improperly.

Our Site may also use pixels or transparent GIF files in conjunction with our online advertising efforts. These files, which track which advertisements bring users to our Site, are anonymous and the information they provide is not personally identifiable. All Users have the choice to opt out of receiving these GIF files, though please note that participating in our opt-out program does not prevent Users from seeing our online ads.

The SFCVB uses an ADARA Impact pixel to tract the travel intent of users who engage with specific advertising efforts.

How We Use Collected Information

SFCVB may collect and use Users' personal information for the following purposes:

1. To contact Users directly – If a User fills out the Site's "Contact Us" form, SFCVB will contact said User via the personal information shared on the form. The same applies to other forms throughout the site.

2. To send periodic email newsletters and email updates – If a User decides to opt in to our mailing list, he or she will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information, etc. If at any time the User wishes to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, he or she can find unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email. These communications will be auto-generated in some cases and continue until user decides to unsubscribe or dis-engage with the email.

The SFCVB uses Campaign Monitor and SharpSpring and abides by their privacy policies and procedures when activating emails.

3. To allow for sweepstakes or contest submissions and notifications of winners – If a User chooses to enter an online contest on the Site, information shared on the entry form may be used to contact the User if they win a prize.

How We Protect Your Information

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of any personal information and data stored by our Site.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users' personal identification information to third parties. We may use second-party service providers to administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or email updates. We may share your information with these second parties for those limited purposes, provided that you have first given us your permission.

Third-Party Websites

Users may find content on our Site that link to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors, or other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Site. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may change periodically. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Site, is subject to that website's own terms and policies.

The SFCVB uses RoomKnights as a third party booking and packaging solution. The site bookings.visitsiouxfalls.com is a separate site and pursuant to a separate privacy policy, which can be found on that site.

The SFCVB uses CrowdRiff to collect user-generated content and display it throughout VisitSiouxFalls.com, on a custom social wall and on various social media channels. Users opt-in by use of hashtags or non-private engagement with various Sioux Falls locations, tracked by a location ID.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

SFCVB has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.
